Community Fire Company No. 1 of North Whitehall Township, Schnecksville, PA. was established in 1924 and is the oldest department in the area. Covering approximately twelve square miles, our primary service area consists of portions of North Whitehall, Lowhill and Heidelberg Townships in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. Originally a rural area dotted by farms and several small villages, the area has become the second fastest growing municipality in Lehigh County. In addition to the hundreds of new homes being built every year, the Fire Company also protects the shared campus of the Lehigh Career and Technical Institute and the Lehigh Carbon Community College, two elementary schools, numerous commercial occupancies and nearly 1,500 acres of the Trexler-Lehigh Game Preserve and the Lehigh Valley Zoo. We also provide first-due fire and rescue services to approximately 11 miles of limited access highway on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
